Talent mapping is a combination of a series of qualitative and unique psychological tests with quantitative industrial tests aimed at new students. Director of Student Affairs of IPB University, Dr Ujang Suwarna explained that this talent mapping is done in order to provide the students with a future mindset of becoming transformative leaders. "Talent mapping of new students is done to describe the initial learning stage, the learning process stage and the final stage of learning support," he said.

He explained that students are divided based on learning style, character, leadership style and career interest tendencies. Career interests based on the chosen occupation include academics, entrepreneurship, bureaucrats or leadership and professionals.
