IPB University Shared about Business Management to Other University
Business Development Center UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (UIN Suka) had a visit to Directorate of Business Development and Entrepreneurship IPB University at Wednesday, 11th December 2019. UIN Suka team consisted of seven delegates that directly welcomed by The Director of Business Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. rer.nat. Jaenal Effendi, MA in Rector 2 assembly room, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB University.
“Hopefully we can share many things, it doesn’t mean we’re leading, but at least we’re few steps ahead in some points.” said Jaenal. Furthermore, Dr. rer.nat. Jaenal Effendi, MA explained that IPB University is one of The Eleven State University of Legal Entities, which have the rights to dominate in business sector. He also explained that IPB has business units that divided into three, which are: Academic Business Unit (SUA), Supporting Business Unit (SUP), and Comercial Business Unit (SUK).
Secretary of Business Development Center UIN Suka, Abdul Qoyyum, SEI, MSc. Fin was also participated in this meeting. He expressed his gratitude to Directorate of Business Development and Entrepreneurship IPB University for giving his team an opportunity to learn so many things about business in IPB University. “This is actually one of our goals—to learn from IPB University. We have planned it long time ago and finally we did it today. UIN Suka currently have Public Service Agency (BLU) but it’s not as big as IPB University’s which already become The State University of Legal Entity.” said Qoyyum.
Qoyyum said that UIN Suka is the first Public Service Agency (BLU) in Indonesia whose business is still focuses on leasing asset. Hopefully, by visiting IPB University, we can expand our business sector to other business units.
“We know that IPB University is good at managing cafe, restaurant, and merchandise businesses. UIN Suka hasn’t reached this level of business. But hopefully, we can do this later in UIN Suka.” Qoyyum explained.
After the discussion finished, UIN Suka team continued with a tour to several business units under the auspices of Directorate of Business Development and Entrepreneurship IPB University, which are Botani Bakery, Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) and ended at Botani Mart.
Head of Sub-Directorate for Business Management, Dr. Baharuddin, Head of Sub-Directorate for Empowerment and Business Utilization, Dr. Ahmad Yani, Head of Sub-Directorate for Field Laboratory, Dr. Dwi Guntoro and few managers also came along to this visitation. (IAAS/NRF)
