Future Agribusiness Leader Conference: From Agribusiness Youth to SDGs Implementation
The Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) implemented the Future Agriculture Leader Conference at Botani Square Mall, Bogor (4/10). The activity with the theme "Inclusive and Sustainable Agribusiness for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" socialized the formulation to make agribusiness that leads to SDGs by youth agricultural activists. The event which was the last series of Agribusiness for SDGs was also attended by the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Prof. Bambang P.S Brodjonegoro S.E, M.UP, Ph.D with the Rector of IPB Dr. Arif Satria and the initiator of Agribusiness for SDGs, Dr. Bayu Krisnamurthi.
In his remarks, the Minister of PPN / Head of Bappenas conveyed the important values of the struggle for the implementation of SDGs. "I appreciate the enthusiasm of students who continue to fight for the implementation of SDGs. Please to all of the students to choose which fields of SDGs you want to develop and of course you have to provide innovations and breakthroughs so that SDGs ideals can be realized in the midst of society. The idea of carrying out this event is very brilliant, therefore I thank IPB, Mr. Bayu as the initiator and all the students involved until this event was held," said Prof. Bambang in his speech.
Head of the Agribusiness Department of FEM IPB, Dr. Ir Dwi Rachmina M.Si said that the Agribusiness Department together with its students and the Suligar Foundation have carried out a large series of Agribusiness for SDGs. According to her, this is our obligation to realize the commitment of SDGs both nationally and globally.
"We, as a generation that is already ahead of our fellow students, certainly hope that the younger generation can continue our struggle to carry out the tasks related to the implementation of these SDGs. I hope, even though this conference is the last in the series, but this can be the beginning of sustainable development in the future," he explained.
In this event, Ardy Giffery as Deputy Chair of the Student Association Agribusiness Interests (HIPMA) IPB gave a presentation entitled The Views of Agribusiness Students Against the Urgency of the Application of the Ideas of SDGs in Sustainable Development. Siti Hediningsih as National Director of IAAS Indonesia also conveyed her ideas on the topic of Women in Sustainable Development through Agriculture and Agribusiness to Realize the SDGs 2030.
Meanwhile, Lazuardi as Chair of the Association of Indonesian Agricultural Socio-Economic Students' Professional Organizations also delivered the results of his formulation on the topic of Agriculture 4.0 and SDGs: Synergy in Realizing Sustainable Development.
The new student who succeeded in admitting the Department of Agribusiness through the OSIS Chairperson entrance, M Rizal Amri, delivered the idea on the theme of Youth as Drivers of Sustainable Development through Agriculture and Agribusiness.
The event concluded with the submission and signing of a pledge of commitment to implement Agribusiness for Sustainable Development by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Chancellor of IPB, student representatives, and all elements that helped implement the Agribusiness for SDGs program.
