Public Relation IPB Hunted Public Relations Knowledge to London School of Public Relations Jakarta

Public Relation and Communication Bureau Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) hunted Public Relations (PR) knowledge to London School of Public Relations (LSPR), Jakarta (4/5) in event Perhumas Coffee Morning With London School of Public Relations by theme “PR Zaman Now: Public Relations in The Age of Disruption”. Besides participating in this coffee morning event, PR IPB also did the comparative study about the institutional communication management to LPSR.
The Chairman of Perhumas Indonesia, Agung Laksamana, as the interviewees of coffee morning said, “The media now has been changed, everyone in everywhere can be journalist. The working world become very competitive. Citizens want the real time news. The big change is happening in citizen life. The paradigm of people to their goals has been changed. Once if children were asked what is their dream, they could answer they wanted to be astronaut or doctor. But times have shifted. The children today will answer bravely they want to be youtuber,” explain the author of “Public Relations in The Age of Disruption”.
Moreover, he added that in this era, news can be published though it is not deep, not detailed, not covered both sides, and not confirmed by interviewees. “This can be the challenge to public relation practitioners,” he firmed. In this era, everyone can be public relations (PR). The competition can be very sharp in this profession. “The competition can be not only for the same bachelor of communication science, but also for the bachelor of economic, engineers and doctors can be PR,” he explained.
Other speakers, Prita Kemal Gani as Founder & Director LSPR Jakarta, delivered about tips and tricks facing disruption era. Prita said the role of PR can be very digital. “ A PR must be able to recommend about the efficient working of their institution. A PR must have an entrepreneurship and leadership character. A PR has to be ethical, lots of hanging out, innovative and creative, and have global mindset and global network. A PR has to be certified,” she firmed. (dh/zul).
