Team of Friday Tour of IPB Invited the Villagers of Cihideung Ilir to Take Advantage of Land Yards

Team of Friday Tour of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) arrived in Cihideung Ilir Village, Ciampea Sub-district, Bogor District (25/8). Friday Tour this time located in Majlis Al-Hidayah, Kampung Lembur Alit RT.4 RW.3.
Head of Development Section of Cihideung Ilir Village, Rizkie Ruslan, SE, thanked to IPB which had provided the assistance and the training in the agriculture, the livestock, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) of Household Industries.
Therefore, he wanted to have the advanced program from the Friday Tour of IPB, mainly for the residents of Cihideung Ilir, such as the rehabilitation of the uninhabitable house, the availability of the clean water, and the waste processing.
"Other than that, we hope that IPB can provide the assistance to the children of Cihideung Ilir Village and the residents of around campus to be able to study in IPB," he said.
Chairman of the entourage of the Friday Tour of IPB, Dean of Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet) of IPB, Dr. Mohamad Yamin, said that Cihideung Ilir Village was a village which was very close to Campus of IPB. Therefore, for the children who were interested in studying in IPB, could be introduced more closely to the campus of IPB, while preparing to learn earnestly.
On this occasion, Dr. Yamin invited the people to use the home yard to become the productive land, for example by raising the crickets or the rabbits. "The cricket business is a promising business opportunity. In addition to the small capital and the large profits, the business opportunity this one just needs the preservance and the thoroughness. While, the rabbits which are usually the hobbies, if diligently used they can bring the multiple benefits. In addition to the penchant to be channeled, the benefits can be achieved," he said.
Related to the request submitted by the Head of Development Section about the house rehabilitation, the clean water, and the waste management, Dr. Yamin said that IPB would try to help, discuss and find the right solution to handle it. "IPB also has the lecturers who are competent in that field, such as handling of the clean water, and the water processing. Hopefully, the problem is quickly resolved," he added.
The Friday Tour Activity in IPB in Cihideung Ilir Village was beginning with the Product Hygiene Training of UMKM by the researchers of the Center for Food Science and Technology and Agriculture of Southeast Asia (SEAFAST), Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) of IPB, Fallerina, S.TP. This training provided the knowledge of how business actors could produce the food, maintain the hygiene and take the precautions to avoid the food and the drink from the risk of the danger, both the physical, chemical, and biological dangers that could cause the diseease.
The Friday Tour Team also had the opportunity to provide the compensation to 40 orphans; the health equipment aid for the Integrated Service Post; the learning supplies for the Early Childhood Education / PAUD; the book of Iqro and Al Quran for Majlis Taklim; as well as the equipment asssitance for the actors of UMKM.
