PT Sinar Mas Forestry in Cooperation with IPB

PT Sinar Mas Forestry (SMF) forms a partnership with IPB to conduct research and development of sustainable industrial plantation forest. The signing of the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) was conducted by IPB Rector, Dr. Ir. Prof. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc., and Director of SMF, Subardjo, on Wednesday (16/5) in Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor. 

PT Sinar Mas Forestry is a private company engaged in the industrial plantation forest and highly committed to developing a sustainable industrial forest to increase the positive contribution to the socio-economic and environmental aspects, while IPB has the ability, skill, knowledge and experience to conduct research and development of sustainable industrial plantation forest. These two backgrounds have encouraged both of them to carry out the cooperation.

"For IPB, this cooperation is to challenge scientists or researchers so that they can demonstrate their knowledge on the field to support national economic development," said Rector in his speech. Meanwhile, in his speech Subardjo said, with this cooperation a private company can contribute to the management of Indonesia’s forests with a valid, objective and accurate method. (Mtd)
