Kartini Day

Series of Kartini Day activities have been held by Agrianita IPB since 20 April. Some activities such as the health seminar on Thorough Discussion of Cancer, medical examinations for women of IPB academic community (pap smear, measurement of cholesterol and sugar levels, osteoporosis), and bazaars have been conducted. This time Agrianita IPB held a seminar entitled "Beautiful and Elegant with Charming Personality" at the Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasoetion Darmaga Campus IPB, (27/4).

"The big enthusiasm of visitors shows that women in IPB have already had an awareness of the importance of health," said the Committee Chairman Dr. Widanarni in her speech. According to her, the beauty resulting from RA Kartini’s struggle to fight for the women rights to get a decent living has been greatly felt by many. Thanks to RA Kartini, today many women are able to develop themselves side by side with men in advancing the nation.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion Chairman of Agrianita IPB, Enny H. Suhardiyanto said that one of the early opportunities others judge us is through the visual impression, so the concept of looking beautiful and elegant is raised as the theme in this seminar. "As a mother and wife, we are required to look clean and neat but with the daily routine chore we often forget to take care of it. In doing their career, women should be able to put themselves in appearance suited to a variety of conditions in public. The woman who accompanies her husband who holds a position should be able carry herself and keep her appearance. And most important is how we can organize our body language to get positive benefits of our surroundings, "he said.

Hundreds of participants, women and students of IPB, were listening to the presentation on the ethics and etiquette of women as well as women’s fashion from the model of 80’s era, Dhanny Dahlan, Spd. Dhanny Dahlan was very popular in the 1980s until the 1990s. Her face often decorated lifestyle magazines as a model, a garment entrepreneur, as well as movie actor.

Approaching the age of 52 years in the coming August, Dhanny activity has not receded. She remains active, but no longer as a model on the catwalk. Besides running her garment business now concentrated on the manufacture of uniforms, the youngest of two brothers actively participates in the community of Javanese dances. Her other activities are not far from her interest in fashion, that is by involving in the management of Cita Indonesian Weaving and members of the Kebayaku Association. (Mtd)
