Rabobank Finances all Educational Costs of Six Students of IPB

News

A bank of agriculture and agribusiness of the Netherlands, Rabobank bears the entire cost of education, research and living for six students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) until they graduate. President Director of Rabobank Indonesia, Hendrik G. Mulder said this Rabobank Undergraduate School Program is a form of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and commitment to the development of and growth in food and agribusiness sector in Indonesia."Through this scholarship program, Rabobank Indonesia expects the graduates will not only be able to apply skills and best values, but they also have passion to create new methods of doing technology-based businesses in food and agribusiness sectors," said Hendrik.

Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof.Dr.Yonny Koesmaryono expresses his appreciation to Rabobank, which again gives scholarships.  Last year it gave scholarship to five students and this year six students. The six students of IPB are Dewi Utari Wulandari, Dinda Septian Sacharina, Grabiella Stephanie Gultom, Putri Anggraeni, Teki Sinatria and Muhammad Wildan Mukholad.

"Most IPB students are from the middle to lower economic class. We usually free them from the educational fees, but try to get scholarship for their living expenses. As for Rabobank, it is exceptionally extraordinary because it covers the entire cost of education, research, and living," said Prof. Yonny

Further, Prof. Yonny said, there are still IPB students who need some aid, but some notify us and some do not. We ask for the help of student activists to seek information. Rector has established that there should be no students dropping out because of economic problems. A drop-out must be out of purely academic reasons," said Prof. Yonny. He hopes that Rabobank will become of great interest to the agricultural industries; if it gets a lot of profit, it is expected that more and more scholarships are awarded. (mtd)
