Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations of Bogor Agricultural University (DPKHA IPB) organized Studium Generale Pra Graduation Diploma IPB, on Monday, 7 August 2017, at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW),  IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor. The resource person invited for the Studium Generale Pra Graduation of Diploma IPB was the  Founder Waluya Wijaya Farm, Septian Jasiah Wijaya, who is an alumni of IPB Diploma in Animal Technology and Management. This event was held to provide idea to new alumni how to get a job and how to maintain them to be successful and survive.

Deputy Director of Student Affairs Diploma IPB, Dr. Irmansyah, stated that all IPB Diploma graduates must be ready to compete in the business world. IPB is very efficient and accountable to carry out its program to produce  competent graduates in agriculture, marine and tropical bioscience for the advancement of the nation. Through this activity it is expected the graduates of Diploma IPB will get enlightenment as the authorized capital to be marketed in the job markets or entrepreneurship.

Dr. Irmansyah stressed that, in challenging the tough job market the Diploma graduates must have a steel mentality and expertise with creative ideas, as well as to be competitive. "Improve the your soft- and hard- skills to enable you to get most demanded jobs ," he said.

Yet, the Head of Subdivision of Student Career Development DPKHA IPB, Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, explained that the struggle of the prospective graduates will never stop, there will be a continuing struggle in developing and achieving successful careers in the job markets. The DPD IPB encourages its graduates to work in companies or become employees. IPB also encourages its graduates to be entrepreneurs who can hire people and benefit the communities.

Head of Relationship of DPKHA Alumni IPB, Dr. Andes Ismayana said challenge in the job market will come after the graduation,  where the tough competition is quite complicated. "Through the debriefing to the prospective graduates is expected to be well-prepared and ready to compete with their colleagues, debriefing is really a good guide for the  graduates to step forward," he said.

The next item of the program then continues by the presentation of Dr. Septian Jasiah Wijaya. He said, to be an entrepreneur we must have courage and know how to take the golden opportunities in front of us. "/but we do not know when that opportunity will come,". "The important thing we have been equipped with ideas, views and efforts to become entrepreneurs."

He added, entrepreneurs will often have amazing business ideas, but they put them on hold due to a lack of capital. They assume that their idea will never get far off the ground unless they have major funding behind them, entrepreneur do not need lot of capital. Have a great idea but very little money? Don’t let that stop you! Yes, there will be ridiculously long days with little to no sleep. Yes, you are going to be stressed. Eliminating the stress and burden of debt will greatly increase the chances of creating a successful business. " There must be obstacles, you must keep your courage and continue to sharpened ide-ide, to be  creative to be entrepreneur.  Instead of venturing off into uncharted territory, make sure that you build your business around your skills and knowledge," he concluded.
