Workshop on Refreshment and Stabilization of the Technique of the Making of Accreditation Form of the Study Program of IPB


The implementation of the quality assurance system was the manifestation of the commitment of the study program and the institution to improve the quality in a sustainable manner, effective, and accountable. The national accreditation of the study program was the shape and the reflection of the implementation of the quality assurance system in the study program through the external evaluation process and the comprehensive assessment for the commitment of the study program toward the quality and the capacity of the implementation of Tridarma program of the university.

The national accreditation of the study program by Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT) National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education was a must as well as a determination of the legal aspect of the study program. The study program was required to be accredited which was the permit requirement for the educational implementation according to the Act No.12 in the year of 2012 on Higher Education. The study program that was expired its status of accredited or non-accredited was not allowed to pass the students, so that the Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was not justified to sign the certificate in the period of the date of the study program which was not accredited.

All strata of the status of the accreditation of the study program in IPB were 69% for the status of accreditation A, 30% for the status of accreditation B, and 1% for the status of accreditation C. The distribution of the status of the accreditation of the study program in every level of education was as follows:

  1.        Diploma Program: A=11.11%, B= 88.89%
  2.        Sarjana Program: A= 94.44%, B=5.56%
  3.        Master Program: A=72.00%, B=26.67%, C=1.33%
  4.        Doctoral Program: A=67.44%, B=32.55%

On 21-22 December 2016, the Office of Quality Management (KMM) of IPB held “Workshop Penyelenggaraan dan Pemantapan Teknik Penyusunan Borang Akreditasi / Workshop on Implementation and Stabilization of the Technique of the Making of the Accreditation Form” attended by Dean, Vice Dean, Chairman of the Department, Secretary of the Department, and Head of the Study Program. There were two things to be achieved in this event, namely: First, strengthening the quality management system in the leaders through the understanding of the quality assurance system in each level of the management unit generally, and the understanding the importance of the accreditation as the legality of the implementation of the academic of the study program; Second, improving the technical capabilities in the making of the documentation of the accreditation form and the self-evaluation.

Two resource persons, namely Dr. Adil Basuki Ahza, expressed about the role of the head of the  institution and the unit in carrying out the quality assurance system, while Prof.Dr. Sudarsono conveyed the technical matters related to the making of the Accreditation Form of BAN-PT. Furthermore, the workshop participants did the practice of the techniques of the making and the assessment of the accreditation form.

Head of KMM of IPB, Dr. Fredinan Yulianda, hoped that this event became the driver of the increase in the integrated quality management system both substantively and institutionally, thereby it would increase the quality of management of the preparation in the making of the accreditation form of the study program of BAN-PT. “When the ability of the study program and its unit of organizer in running the quality management system and preparing the documents of the accreditation form and the self-evaluation increase, it is expected that the status of the accreditation of the study program will increase and cumulatively enhance the accreditation of IPB,” he said.***
