image of news  Rhizobacteria are root-colonizing bacteria that form symbiotic relationships with many plants.  They are often referred to as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, or PGPRs. PGPRs increase the availability of nutrients through the solubilization of unavailable forms of nutrients and by the production of siderophores which aids in the facilitating of nutrient transport. Thus, these microbial inoculants can be beneficial for crops, they offer sustainable approach to increase production of crops and health.

image of news Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Peat (HGI) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in the Meeting Room of Fateta, Dramaga Campus, Wednesday (25/3), on the topic "Mapping, Characteristics and Carbon Balance of Peat". The discussion was attended by academicians and practitioners in peatland management. Among the participating institutions were IPB, HGI, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Sinarmas Forestry and PT. Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (PT. RAPP).
